A township with no train station and no through highway runs entirely on its own cars, and taking one out of service for half a day is a real inconvenience in a household where every vehicle has a job. That is the case for bringing the work here rather than asking anyone to drive to it. The van leaves North Haledon with the correct glass, the primer, the moldings and the vacuum already loaded, and the car never leaves the property.
The conditions here make the outdoor version of the job as good as the indoor one, which is not true everywhere. Driveways run deep, so the vehicle can be positioned away from the road with space on both sides. Nothing is passing within a foot of the working side. There is no time limit and no permit, so the car can stand well past the minimum drive-away time without anyone hovering. The only genuine constraint is weather, since urethane wants a dry, reasonably warm bond line, and on a bad forecast we move the date rather than pretend it does not matter. Beyond that, a township driveway asks less of us than almost any other setting.

The layout of the township is what makes this work so well. Franklin Avenue carries the commercial life, and Sicomac Avenue, Wyckoff Avenue and Cedar Hill Avenue take the through traffic, but the residential roads behind them are winding, quiet and largely without sidewalks, with driveways that hold three cars nose to tail. A van parked on one of those is out of everyone's way for as long as it needs to be. Tree cover is the only thing to plan around, and not for shade. Sap and debris falling onto a fresh bond line is worth avoiding, so if the only spot is directly under a heavy canopy we will usually suggest moving the car forward a few feet before starting.
