Wyckoff is the kind of township where the car never really leaves the property except to go somewhere specific. Lots are wide, driveways are long, and there is no train station in the township, so households run two or three vehicles and the school and work routes all start at the top of the drive. The road between us makes that easy. Sicomac Avenue runs west out of Wyckoff and lands in North Haledon a couple of streets from our shop, so a van dispatched at nine is on your driveway well before half past. Everything the job needs travels with it: the correct glass for your year and model, fresh urethane and primer, new moldings, and the vacuum that gets the last of the tempered pebbles out of the door cavity. What you get is the shop experience with the car parked where it started.
Franklin Avenue carries most of Wyckoff's commercial life, with the shopping centers, the banks and the food stores strung along it, and Sicomac Avenue, Wyckoff Avenue and Cedar Hill Avenue handle the rest of the through traffic. Away from those, the township is winding residential roads under heavy tree cover, many without sidewalks, most with driveways deep enough to park three cars nose to tail. There is no rail service in the township, so commuters either drive to a station in a neighboring town or take Route 208 south toward Route 4 and the bridge. From the Cedar Hill Avenue side, allow a few minutes more. It is an easy drive even with a damaged windshield because it is all surface road with no highway merge.
