A long Wyckoff driveway is a better place to replace a windshield than most shop bays. There is room to walk the full length of the car, room to lay the new glass down safely before setting it, and no traffic passing a foot from the working side. The van carries the matched glass for your year and model, fresh urethane and primer, new moldings, cutting tools and the vacuum, so nothing about the job depends on being indoors. The one thing we cannot bring is weather, and in heavy rain or a hard freeze we move the date rather than risk the bond.
What we ask for in return is a straight surface and a car that can stay put. Gravel drives are fine as long as they are level and firm; what matters is dust, because urethane bonds to a clean primed bead and to nothing else. On a dry windy day we may ask to bring the car onto the paved apron before starting. After the glass is set, the vehicle stays where it is for the full safe drive-away time, which on a driveway install is usually longer than the minimum anyway.

Wyckoff windshields break in two quite separate ways, and the split matters when we quote.
